The Pariah Cup

With the evolution of the game and the continued development of the rules through 2025, the purpose of the Pariah Cup has shifted. Rather than focusing purely on traditionally weak or “underdog” teams, the Pariah Cup now exists to promote diversity in tournament play by encouraging the use of teams that are rarely seen at Danish Masters events.

Selection of Pariah Teams For each Danish Masters tournament

Eight Pariah teams will be selected. The list of Pariah teams will be finalized no later than 14 days before the start of the tournament and announced on the Facebook event and Discord.

The race with the lowest total number of games played, measured 20 days before the tournament starts, will be designated as the Pariah team(s) for the next tournament. The number of games is counted as follows:

– First, games played by each race across all Danish Masters tournaments

– If there is a tie, games played by each race across all Danish tournaments

– If there is still a tie, games played by each race across all NAF tournaments

– If the tie remains unresolved, the race is determined by a die roll

The reference point may be moved to 13 days before the tournament starts in order to include upcoming and ongoing tournaments

Scoring System

Main Series Scoring

  • Placement Points:
Top 10 placements in a tournament are scored on a declining scale:
    1st = 10 points, 2nd = 9 points, …, 10th = 1 point.
If fewer than 10 coaches participate, placement points are reduced by 1 per missing coach.

  • Bonus for Larger Tournaments:
Coaches earn +1 point per 10 places below them in the standings.
    • Example 1: A 1st-place finish in a 32-coach tournament earns +3 points (30+ coaches below).
    • Example 2: A 1st-place finish in an 11-coach tournament earns +1 point (10 coaches below).
    • Example 3: A 1st-place finish in a 10-coach tournament earns no bonus (9 coaches below).

  • Team Tournaments:
Points are awarded based on individual standings.

  • Participation Bonus:
All participating coaches receive +1 point per tournament day.

Pariah Cup Scoring

  • Points are earned per match won or drawn in tournaments.
  • Only the best four tournaments for each Pariah Cup coach count toward the final score.
